Hey folks, it’s been a while but I’m back with another review. A few weeks ago I got a Message from „Hütte 35“ and after a few words they hit me up with a Deck.
He sent me a deck: 33mm wide, 96mm long, medium deep concave and mid high kicks. The shape is almost symmetrical.
The nose is a bit bigger then the tail, which is totally okay for me.
The craftsmanship is a Thing. He uses quite rough ply wood, you can feel the grain and everything of the wood. I’m not sure if that is meant to be or because he hasn’t found the right reseller yet. Sanding on the edges could be better, the drilling holes are okay but the countersinks are not that good. I couldn´t find any glue spots or chips or lacquer spots. The deck is well pressed but the paintjob and the total impression of the deck is not very valuable. It’s really light, probably the lightest deck I ever felt maybe that’s the reason why I think it feels not so valuable, never mind that guys.
Well the package is a standart zipbag with a tag on top. Would be cool to have some information in it, like size, wood and shape etc. I’m a fan of those things. The graphic or paint job, well it’s art, but could be better, on the inner side of the nose you find a stamp with an owl on it maybe that’s the connection to the owl drawing on the bottom. There is a lot that can be done to step up the game and step up the craftsmanship.
Craftmanship: 5 /10
Design & Graphic: 5 /10
Packaging: 3 /10
Shape: 7 /10
Hütte35 is doing a lot and has his own scene down there in Germany, I like that even when the decks could be better, but sometimes you need someone who tells you what you could do better. I´m sure they will work on what I marked here and I will see a great result soon.
